Camping for the Holidays!

Posted by

With Christmas and New Years just around the corner, we often forget that every family celebrates these holidays in a different way. Some may travel thousands of miles to stay at Grandma’s for the weekend and some may stay put because they have family nearby. We’ve even heard of some families taking off for a tropical vacation just to switch things up. But do you ever think that some people may pack up their RV and head to the campground to celebrate the holidays with their camping family? Or maybe they jump in the RV and drive across the country to see family. Either way, they have to make that RV feel like Christmas. We’ve got a few great ideas on how to make your Camping Christmas the best one yet!

The Decorations

Imagine a Christmas with no Christmas Lights…Boring, right? No matter where you celebrate Christmas, we hope you at least have some green and red SOMEWHERE. And if you’re camping, there are a lot of opportunities for decorating. Check out this collage of Camper Decorations we found on Pinterest! As you can see there are a lot of creative ways to decorate any kind of RV. Some keep it simple and some go crazy. Our personal favorite is the idea of hooking Rudolph up to your camper so it look’s like you’re sleeping in Santa’s Sleigh for the weekend. BRILLIANT!

The Food

What Holiday is complete without your crazy family Food? From the appetizers to the main dish to the yummy dessert, there is bound to be some full tummys by the end of it! While camping does throw a bit of complication into a full sit down meal, there are plenty of easy to cook/bake options if you’re planning on spending your Christmas or New Years holiday on the road! Here are some of our favorites!

  1. Campfire Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches
  2. Campfire French Toast
  3. Tin Foil Shrimp Boil
  4. Easy S’More Hot Chocolate
  5. Crockpot Breakfast Casserole
  6. S’Mores Mini Dippers
  7. Campfire Monkey Bread
